YESSS!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH ****! I was pissed at him for the mafia. My god, im tellin the effin truth, and he cant understand that, seems to think its impossible to tell the truth.
Im a VT, but he doesnt know how i think, so he just bases me off other mafias. Seems to me that he's paranoid from past games and doesnt think its possible for anyone to tell the truth in a mafia.
HEY GAIZ YOU ******* **** ***** ***** I HAVE SOME ***** FREE **** HERE AND ITS **** FROM GAMES AND MUSIC THAT YOU CAN PIRATE **** ***** ****** *** ******* AND SOME MORE **** *** * ******
Im not saying its moral or right to bash him, i may dislike him but I'll protect his honor still.
My honest opinion (I read the post in moderation announcements that he wrote) is that he was being an arrogant ass with complete disregard for copyright laws/other rules such and such.
Lynch all liars is seldom a good solution to find scum, and good players know this. The action could have been stopped by a mafia roleblocker or an inactive whose action had been randomized. In both cases no roleblock on the "liar" will be claimed. Lemme check why the kill didnt go through...
I got it. Henrz was hosting and I couldn't check the game thread, so I thought Yeeb was hosting and sent the action to Yeeb without CC'ing Henrz, so Henrz didn't know my action.
Yes, it IS common to lie in mafias. That's why Lynch all liars is a valid option only in some open setup game like dethy, and NEVER in role madness games (as was Xiaolin Showdown).
There are other more effective strategies. Follow the cop is one, but there are also more powerful but deductive ones like finding WIFOM or Celebrity X reasoning.
I hate WIFOM. That rarely works and it's usually just a way to dismiss what is actually good logic. I like it when people say something was too stupid to have happened and then later be caught having done it. Like CV in MLP mafia hehe...
Yes, WIFOM is IMO pretty easy to recognise, so it's not a safe way at all.
Also Celebrity X is something you should avoid when scum. That's very suspicious. Even if most players don't know its name, they do know that it's suspicious to claim that "X" must be town because it's one of the main characters.
Also, Mole, you did some Celebrity X while claiming that Adder had to be town because he was Chase Young.
Not what I meant about WIFOM. I meant it shoots down good arguments that shouldn't be shot down. "If I were X I wouldn't do Y" is not WIFOM but people say it is.
Celebrity X works. Usually there are no safe claims. Main character names are heavy indicators of townieness. When a single scum is caught you can look at his name claim and make a good guess as to whether or not safe claims are there. If they aren't then Celebrity X is logical.
"If I were X I wouldn't do Y" is not WIFOM but people say it is.
It is. The film says, "Are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet, or his enemy's?" So WIFOM is an extended concept of "if I were X I would(n't) do Y". In mafia, the scum creates a WIFOM situation when he's accused of doing something, and he says, putting some reasoning in it, that the accusation made on him is wrong because he would never do it. The original WIFOM situation in the movie The Princess Bride is the inverse of that. Let's put an example.
Mafia WIFOM situation: Townie: "Player A would be the person to kill X." Player A: "No. I hate Y more. If I was scum, I'd kill Y rather than X."
Original film situation: Westley: "Is the poison in my goblet or in yours?" Vizzini: "If you were the type of person who would put the poison in his rival's goblet, then it's in mine. If not, then it's in yours."
In the first situation, the townie is trying to guess whether player A would kill X or Y. In the second situation, Vizzini is trying to guess whether Westley would kill him or himself. So Mole, you're wrong when you say that "If I were X I wouldn't do Y" is not WIFOM.
Usually there are no safe claims.
I don't know about you, but I usually give scum safeclaims.
