I saw it was free, looks like a cool game, but I havent gotten it because I was turned off by a few things.
- Why should I install steam to also install the game?
- It started eating up my computers hard drive when I tried downloading TF2 after I downloaded steam. One moment I had 10 gigabytes less than I did before. (its ok now though, back to normal)
- A 5-6 hour download. even 1 gig downloading (why did it cut my drive by ten btw? it was only 1 large?) is hell to wait for when we've got ****ty american download speeds of a few hundred KILObytes per second. Korea has 15 megs per second.
Otherwise, It looks great, it really does, and I would like to try to play it. Just need to get around those speed bumps.
Why should I install steam to also install the game? Valve controls both TF2 and Steam; they are the producer and the vendor. It helps with content delivery (consider the huge number of updates the game has had) and acts as another block against cheaters.
If you don't play a lot of steam games, then it loses its value; but for the most part, you can ignore most aspects of steam altogether.

Lastly, the game is a bit resource intensive, so if you guys don't have beasty computers, you might have to modify the settings a bit or run it in Directx 8. I can help with that if you want (e.g. using an fps config).
Should probably also mention that the game has a fair-sized brony community.
I tried dling it after a few people at my school recommended it. For some reason my dl speed is stupidly slower through steam then it usually is. I'll try dling it again... if works and somerandomdude isn't taken that'll be my username otherwise I'll post it here...
