Pretty much my only form of physical activity is stick fighting and wal;king around at school but im still like one of the fittest kids in school... most of them are just fat ppl...
Hah, the hungry thing is the best part about swimming. We can eat whatever **** we want. My highschool team (they suck but whatever) we go out to a pizza place after every season. Normally about 10 of us are there, and we eat about 14 large pizzas. :D
Kara eats a crapload too. Dont even try to defend that ;)
It's an odd sport, it's not fun like most game based sports. It's just endurance and speed really. It is extremely time consuming especially during the school year when we got te double practices (before and after school). It's boring, aggrevating, and it smushes your social life.
But it gives us something to do, is great for ya, it's great for college, and the people who do it are generally smarter and nicer than the muscly brain dead dogs in manly sports.
So yeah, it's voluntary, and psuedo enjoyable. Pretty much you hate doing it but regret nothing. Summed up by this bipolar emoticon
D:D

but my dads an ass, the kind that believes you wont be successful in life if you dont do sports (he says this load of bull quite often), and forces my brothers and sister to do swimming, as a result all three of them hate the activity and the father.
I cant stand running, really tire out fast from that, cardiovascular activities
I want to run a marathon. I'm not a runner, and I don't do much running but I want to do it and sooner is probably better. I don't want to grow old and think to myself "hmmmm what have I NOT accomplished in life? Poopie, I haven't run a marathon, well, I can hardly walk up the stairs now so fruit it all" Kind of weird reasoning I know, but it's something I want to do.
If I just upped and went for a run right now I might be able to do about 5k. maybe. And it would be slow. I have decent cardio from cycling but really it's a whole different ball game.
When people train for marathons, they do ridiculous intense training for something like 6 months before the race and I know I won't have time for this next year, but maybe I'll get in the habit of doing some jogging on weekends, get myself in shape for a 10k run, and then a few years down the road maybe I'll give a marathon a shot. It's tough to find time to run though. I don't mind biking because it is faster than taking the bus so I save time while exercising.

Yeah I get the reasoning Ill probably do stuff like that as well hail. I dont get training either , I ran a 5K last year and I didnt train at all, and finished it in 23 minutes.
I think i could run a marathon, not very fast, but i think i could. Our swim team does some monster runs sometimes in the summer, where we just get a half hour to go as long as we can. I'm one of the better runners and go about 5 miles. Im pretty damn tired after that, but if i slowed it down a bunch i imagine i could go farther.

Well I would definitely have to do the training before running a marathon, but I won't have time for it next year and maybe not the year after, so I figure my best bet would be to aim for a 10k or something that takes much less training in the immediate future, maybe a half-marathon a little later, and finally the real thing.
