Just got it ordered, it will be here in maybe this week! This game is amazing, when I get it my soul will be sucked away into the void. It seriously is so fun it never gets old. This is possibly the greatest game ever.
Well yeah, its the hell damningly best in the series, which is why im getting 3 and not 4 or 5. You have played it berfoer? Seriously, one of the greatest games every created.
I played 2 and 3. Still have em I think. The scenario type gameplay is fun, but the game could be so vastly improved with a random map generator. I never felt inclined to play half the maps because of obscure win conditions that I didn't want to bother with. If I have a superior force and am able to defeat the others, I don't want a stupid loss because he comp found an artifact. If I recall there were about 12 solid maps that I would play multiplayer, not much else though.
I'd be willing to dig it up. For all I know my view was biases, I never really tried most of the maps outside the campaign. I hVe to admit though, if number 2 had the same graphics I would call it better. It had much more fun units, hobbits, peasants that generated gold if in your army, vampires that said "Bleigh" every time they attacked, and a necromacer civ that was half decent I think
Im getting the HOMMIII complete which has the original and 2 expansion packs for it. There is a random map generator and campaign creator in the expansions.
But seriously this is good, released in 1999 and still beats many games today.
Comes with the original and 2 expansions. Im guessing more than one disk. Might be able to connect. I just love the hot seat 2 player mode, can play with someone at home.
The one thing that I remembered bothered me was the campaign. Don't forget to use the same save file for every single campaign level. The choices are not unlocked in general, just for the single files.
I musst say that out of the new stuff in the expansion, I like the combination artifacts the most. You have like 2 or more artifacts at once then you can make them go together to form a powerful new one. They are so cool, cape of the necromance3r, that made it so necro skill resurrected liches instead of skeletons when I kill enemies. I had like 500 liches.
I am going to make a map on the editor i think. Damn this game is amazing.
Oh man, the editor is amazing. Its a separate program from the game, but I can have the game on and playtest, then edit the map save it and playtest again. Like editing the triggers in aomh. But i dont have to restart the game, I can just edit and keep testing. Saving time.
OOh sorry the one im doing has the new neutral expansion creatures, cause i wanted to try dem out. But I found that when making a map, I can choose it in the vanilla version, so I could make ye a map that you could play.
